Art Forms
Art forms connections across curriculum content, deepening student learning and supporting student achievement.
Art forms teams in the classroom—student to student, student to teacher/teaching artist and teaching artist to teacher—fostering group problem-solving skills required in 21st century work settings.
Art forms employed by KID smART teaching artists over the past several years in their arts integration residencies in public schools include the theater and visual arts, movement, music, the circus arts, hip hop and the media arts.

Art transforms the way students learn, developing important cognitive and attitudinal dispositions that are central to learning in many subjects.
Art transforms the way teachers teach, providing them tools and approaches to teach through multiple intelligences to the whole child.

Art Reforms
The KID smART arts integration model is founded on best practices recognized nationwide as having a profound impact on student success. This spring, the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities released a report, Reinvesting in Arts Education: Winning the Future through Creative Schools, which states: “Arts integration models have been yielding some particularly promising results in school reform and closing the achievement gap.”

Partnership Opportunities
Donate to KID smART by mail or on-line. Here are some ways your donation can help:
• $50 Develop Their Craft as Young Artists
A gift of $50.00 can provide art supplies for 175 students for a week of classes.
• $100 Build Their Capacity to Stretch and Explore
A gift of $100.00 can transport sixty children to a museum exhibit.
• $250 Increase Their Skills of Observation and Reflection
A gift of $250.00 can create an arts resource library of prints and performance DVDs for 50 teachers and 600 children in a participating
KID smARt school.
• $500 Enhance Their Ability to Express Themselves
A gift of $500.00 can engage one child in learning through the arts for a full school year.
• $1000 Deepen Their Understanding of the World
A gift of $1,000.00 can place a teaching artist in a residency in a classroom for he entire spring semester.
