KID smART continues to work with the Consulat General de France and students and French teachers from Kate Middleton School on a specialized residency integrating study of the visual arts and the French language. This project is funded by the French American Cultural Exchange.

KID smART teaching artists and classroom teachers are working collectively through an online network, giving members resources and feedback in real time.

The first kNOw What It Means curriculum resource kit has been completed. It focuses on New Orleans architecture. Development of the first kit was funded by the Afterschool Partnership. The kits will be produced and introduced into schools in the spring of 2011

The Louisiana Office of Culture, Recreation and Tourism commissioned KID smART to conduct a statewide survey of arts education availability/access in public schools. The resulting Art is Education publication can be accessed by clicking Survey.

Drill-down survey data from New Orleans was added to the local Parents' Guide, giving parents an opportunity to assess arts education availabilty as they choose a school for their children. To see the data, click 2010 Guide.

KID smART designed and coordinated the Imagination, Creativity and Innovation (ICI) Initiative for the Louisiana Division of the Arts to support arts integrated instruction throughout the state. KID smART took a leadership role in the development of the program in the spring of 2010, and created a summer institute in arts integration theory and practice for 69 teachers from around the state in July 2010.
