2027 Bloomberg Arts Internship for Rising High School Seniors!

For the summer of 2027, our BAI interns will work with local arts and culture organizations, gaining real-world experience and getting paid for it! But that's not all—this program also includes professional development sessions, cultural immersion activities, and workshops to help them prepare for college and their future careers.

This is a rare paid opportunity for high school students in New Orleans to gain valuable work experience and get a head start on their professional journey. We are thrilled to support the vibrant creative industries in our city and look forward to seeing the incredible impact these talented students will make.

Yes. Summer interns are paid a living wage of $21.61 per hour.
The summer internship runs for 8 weeks: June 7, 2027- July 31, 2027
Is attendance to the full 8 weeks required? Yes, a full commitment to all 8 weeks, including the graduation is required.
- Monday: Writing, Financial Literacy, Personal & Professional development at the Kid Smart Center
- Tuesday–Thursday: On-site at assigned work site
- Friday: Cultural site visits and program-related experiences
Interns work on-site three days per week (7-8hr days), Tuesday through Thursday full time.
(Example: 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, etc.)

- Worksite Organization Projects and Job Descriptions
Interns have an opportunity to meet worksites and site supervisors and make a wishlist of their top 3 organizations. The wishlist is considered during the final matching selections. The matching process is designed to ensure a meaningful, aligned, and productive experience for both interns and work sites.
Because summer interns are earning a living wage, interns are expected to cover their own transportation to and from sites. KID smART provides support with assisting interns in mapping out public transportation routes and car pooling with fellow interns.
